Coach Chris Hanson became a competitive swimmer in the early 1980s, when he was pulled into a backstroke race at Hollin Hills Pool. He took second place and was hooked. Learning to compete with the Bluefish, he went on to swim for Bishop Ireton High School. Graduating as team captain in 1993, he also swam with J&M ’92-’93. This inspired him to swim for Susquehanna University, also earning his varsity letter. Decades later, Chris coached for the YMCA of Montclair (NJ) Dolphins for 15 years. Streamline to 2024, he reconnected with J&M and now coaches the Hybrid group at Franconia.
